What would be your ideal living space, doesn't matter the time, place, or universe. If you had option to pick anywhere to live as your private domicile, what would it be?

A large, quiet gothic castle in the mountains or on a remote island in alaska with a my friends as roomate, with a large victorian library inside, countless passageways, a small artillery battery in the courtyard facing outward off of ramparts, a variety of detached buildings of different purposes, and a grass-airstrip runway to fly old ww1 plane reconstructions off of

The world would be the garden of eden if no other person was made. My ideal biome would have the snow of winter but also the abundance of spring perpetually. I would just live in the wilderness with the animals.

War and conflict is not comfy, but if you ignore all of that, I've always been strangely at peace when exploring The Silent Cartographer from the original Halo. It is atmospheric and comfy and has beautiful scenery.

Do you like ASMR, /kind/? I like ASMR.
I need more ASMR to listen to, so I'd appreciate it if you shared your favorite ASMR!

I mostly listen to Lloyd's ASMR lately. Obviously he'll be no good if you see ASMR as a sexual thing, but personally I really love his stuff and his voice is fantastic. Especially the tailor and clothing store videos he does.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NqNolx2KMoA

Fred's Voice ASMR is pretty funny if you enjoy the idea of a sneering Englishman making constant jabs at you. Some people swear he looks like Chris Hemsworth as Thor in a few of his videos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Icz-rbHTLKE

Want a soothing lady J.R.R Tolkien? Goodnight Moon is a great choice, especially her old babblebrook videos. The linked video is two hours long but it's like a movie featuring all her fantasy characters.

Reminder that if you hear crackling in your headphones, it's probably a hair touching the driver, I thought my Sennheisers were broken, nope, just had a hair touch the speaker and that fucked with the vibration enough to cause it to sound like ass with bassy ambient

Oh, and if this is ambient asmr thread, I just listen to this on a loop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WNzaYIpwVw

Any advice on staying fit, fellow wapchan citizens?
All my hobbies, as well as my job, involve sitting on my ass, so I really need to do something.

I want to live more healthy rather than get a sixpack or whatever.

>Maybe join some kind of sports club?
What a coincidence, my brother asked me if I want to go swimming with his family once a week, for improving health, just as I wanted to.

It's just a bit difficult to schedule it, everyone prefers a different time/day.
But I think, even if we don't manage to go together I'll go swim by myself once a week.
I can go there by bicycle and the 2hours ticket only cost 3€ thats not much (considering the times we live in).

I didn't mention it, but money is an issue so yeah.

>>1583
This also sounds pretty interesting to me, I also want to meet new people so that's a cool idea.
I just don't know where to find groups like that, I'm not in any social media...

 No.1585

>>1584
Nice coincidence there, anon. Hope you enjoy swimming, I always liked it back when I did it as a kid and as a young teen but as I got fatter I never really wanted to show my body and never liked going there anymore. Sure, people don't give a shit and there's probably tons of boomers there with worse bodies but it's still a personal thing for me.

Slowly changing that though! The only exercise I do when I get the time is walking up and down stairs in my flat close to midnight. 14 stories, 10 times. Around 2000 steps going up and 2000 going down, been doing it infrequently since last year and it's been a really good way to exercise for me. I've also recently started listening to audiobooks while I do it, one hour of an audiobook (1.5x speed too) over 3-4 sessions a week means I can get through books in a month if I'm consistent and gives me a reason to exercise some more. Currently listening to Crime and Punishment and so far (Chapter 4) it's been an interesting read (well, listen). I've also started thinking of buying some leg/arm weights to assist in the weight loss, but haven't decided on it yet.

My friend also gave me a dumbbell that I've been lifting occasionally. 4 exercises of 3 sets of 10 reps means I probably lift it around 120 times? Nothing special, but being an amateur at it I'm hoping there can be some improvement if I'm consistent with that and eat some more protein.

Still, enough hijacking the thread with my life.

>I just don't know where to find groups like that, I'm not in any social media...
Maybe check around your community centers for any flyers for things like hiking, or just googling around for things in your area should help you a bit. Could also check the local university (if you have one) for things like that as well.

 No.1586

Cook your own meals. Lots of veggies. Eat fruit. Olive oil, organ meat and low mercury fish. Drink exclusively water. Get a elliptical machine and use it everyday for 30 minutes at a comfortable pace. No smoking, never drink more than 1 glass of 12% alcohol red wine a day.
This seems insignificant, but it should be enough to make you healthier than most people in the entire world.
Don't forget to catch some sunlight(to prevent MS and a shitload of illnesses which are known to be caused by a lack of vitamin D), but not too much because melanoma and other cancers of the skin. Take care.

Anyone here a big tinkerer? Managed to brick my android phone today when I was booted into custom recovery and hit "boot into slot b". Phone's useless now. I tried to use blankflash to fix it but it wasn't available for my phone so I used one for a similar phone and now my partitions are broken. First time I've straight up bricked a phone. I've bricked/broken a few other devices too
>Android tablet (Tried to remove battery that was non removable and in the process it wouldn't work anymore even when the battery was put back
>3DS (flashed new 3DS on old 3DS when I was transferring devices)
>Macintosh CRT (was trying to resolder pins and blew the electron gun)
>More than a few appliances that I took apart and didn't know how to put back together.
And of course I used linux for years, and always struggled. My life got a lot easier when I moved to mac os, but even on my macbook I nearly broke the thing when I removed the keycaps to clean them and realized they weren't really replacable so I had to take apart the whole thing and order a new keyboard and of course the fist one I ordered was for the wrong model so half the keys didn't work and apple puts rivets in their keyboards now so I had to superglue everything and in the process cracked the bottom of the display so now some of the circuit board is showing.
Maybe I should get a dumbphone? I don't know. Being an autist sucks sometimes.

 No.1598

File: 1715456423150.png (318.07 KB, 500x500, homuthink.png)

Shouldn't it automatically boot into A if B can't boot? Isn't that the whole reason to have two slots?

I have broken OSes before (for example by dd-ing onto the wrong partition), but I am too nervous about hardware to tinker with it and thankfully avoided bricking so far.

You'd think so... But evidently this is a problem on Motorola phones like the one I have. I guess I should have done my research beforehand, but my old phone had no issues with this. Now I'm kind of screwed since so much of my stuff relies on 2FA and I can't receive messages. The wonders of the modern world indeed

Hello /kind/

As some of you probably know Richard Stallman now has cancer. Since this is a board all about kindness and Mr. Stallman has helped many people with his free software and GNU/Linux. Should /kind/ send him a get well message? Is there a way we could do it? how?
