Post 'em. From the Peanuts to the Prince Valiant to Mickey Mouse to your local newspaper's comics. Post your favorite strips, if you like.

I'm still new to the scene, so I've only read Peanuts. I have quite a few of the Fantagraphics reprints (a good place to start if you've never read a newspaper comic before!) and I absolutely adore them. I love Charlie Brown so much. He's a good kid. He doesn't deserve what happens to him, even with his rougher beginnings. He's really my main draw to the series (though I hear it's like that for a lot of people,) but Snoopy is pretty funny and it's nice seeing what the other kids do when Charlie Brown isn't around. I like to read Peanuts when I feel down or when I have a good place to rest, so on. It is also really cool how the strips reflect the time they were written - October strips are in the fall, May strips are in the spring, so on. It's a very intelligent comic, and not in the snobby political sense. It's a grounded, very real story (even though they're all eight year olds, if that,) and that's my favorite kind of story. It manages to keep up with time and keep going through time without feeling surreal. If you like depressing stories with comedic intervals and a good deal of tomfoolery, you should read Peanuts.

We had some oddballs mixed with usual stuff like that and I remember for some weird reason my 5th and 6th grade school laid out newspaper to look at while you wait for class and my parents also give me the comics when they got the paper. I remember we had the Rugrats newspaper comic in ours for a few years too which had a few strips drawn by Vince Giarrano who one of those I do any style artists.

One of the strips we had was Todd The Dinosaur which might be one of the lamest comic strips to exist and I remember hating it lol.

The most oddball thing I remember seeing in a newspaper was Leviathan. If I didn't have hard evidence that it was a real strip I would have thought that it was some sort of fever dream.

>what is this?

Usagi Yojimbo is an american comic book written and drawn by eisner-winner letterer Stan Sakai, about the adventures of a long-eared ronin in early 17th century japan.

I'm continuing a yearly storytime that was stopped at volume 29 when 4chan died. instead of posting the whole volume at once, I selected a few stories that would make a good introduction to any new reader who would care to join in.

I pretty much agree with the general consensus: Seasons 1-2 were good but then the series took a nosedive.

Also Neopolitan best girl.

Season 3 was the series' peak, though.

I actually really liked Vol 4.

Due to user request, I am opening /co/ on a trial basis (just to see how active it can be)
This is the board for all non Japanese cartoons and comics.

/vp/ next
Also /co/ has plenty of backups they can run off too iirc

 No.3

Oh wow didn't except this, let's see how it goes.

 No.29

Thank you so much for adding new boards Fig!! I always liked wapchan since i discovered the place but i didnt had much to discuss in here. now i will be a constant visitor!

 No.30

Good news indeed.
Any possibility for there being a /vt/ board for Chuubas? Certainly before May 1st, considering how Shork fans were denied a place - due to 'Chicken Joxckey' - to discuss what's about to happen then…!

 No.286

>>2
/co/ itself was not that active a board (any board where you refresh the first page and don't get 10 new posts isn't viable), it's been largely a ghost town at all the alts since there weren't enough original users to keep things active in the first place

It's great!
I used to bounce back and forth on whether or not I'd make that choice but ultimately I decided it would be for the best too. To have a love that deep that your memory pushes back against a timeline rewrite is nothing to sweep away

Same! Jerry in the comics is one of my favorites characters! The fact that there is a Jerry in a alternate reality capable to be even more practical and persuasive as Rick is a neat fact. Probally one of the few beings equally or as poweful as Rick. Have you seen the season 8 trailer? Seems like there is a new studio animating the Show and so far the art in the backgrounds looks amazing.

 No.120

I've been reading the old DC sword and sorcery books, Night Master is pretty trippy.

I thought I was the only one to actually like them over the mainiline series. Although they're not always all that funny, they can at least work some good jokes in, like the fact they keep insisting that character X is in no way related to the copyrighted counterpart. My biggest issue with the Rick and Morty comics though is that some of the art is objectively awful. For every story like Doofus Jerry's arc there's like a couple that look basically like an intern phoning it in.

On the upside, I've had a look at the site rules and I don't see anything forbidding us to post stream threads. Dunno if we can use the dedicated board for it, but we might get away with throwing up a livestream and watching old cartoons like it's 2009.

His other comic Seconds is underrated, it was a fun read.

 No.23

Snot girl was really good too. I didnt finish it but I remember being interesting at least, and the artwork is really good.

 No.88

>>22
Seconds was also really good, although it did have a small problem where the protag managed to basically get away with everything scott-free and the rest of the cast was the one paying for her mistakes, kind of undermining the message a bit It does feel like the sort of thing that would work really well as an indie movie and I'm surprised it didn't get adapted.

>>23
Never read snot girl and from the plot synopsis on wikipedia I don't really think I'd be into it.

 No.118

>>20
my problem with it is that the bait & switch of it not being an adaptation is unnecessary. i think people would've still been excited for a sequel/reboot to scott pilgrim without tricking them into thinking they're getting an adaptation of the comics.

at least it's not super divisive like castlevania or devil may cry.
