/gens/ is the home for topics not covered elsewhere on wapchan, especially long running generals. Hopefully this board serves as a good place for these communities.

Yeah, its a shame it went down. I visited a couple times. As annoying as nostalgia can be and the connection with pedoyuri, you have to give them credit for that. Its a bit sad to see them go.

 No.1929

Part of the reason it died is because the owner is literally retarded. He never graduated high school and can barely speak english despite being american. His only redeemable quality is that he is a wizard at computers, knows every aspect of so mony programming languages and made his own bbs software(barely, it's just a fork off a shit one)

I've had my fair share of cheat-inducing jank as well, front mission on the snes was literally unplayable without a quick save/ quick load system, as i had to quick save before EVERY FUCKING SHOT OR PUNCH.my robot would 9/10 miss a point blank shot to a crippled robot without legs!Ridiculous.

 No.1893

>>1884
The handheld spinoffs had some of the worst fucking bosses in the entire series. I felt like I was in a personal hell playing through DDD near the end. Why the fuck are there no saves between FOUR SEPERATE BOSS FIGHTS. Wouldn't be so bad if 3 out of 4 of those boss fight weren't horseshit to fight, man I hated DDD.
>>1892
I play a lot of HoI4 mods, enough that I've gotten sick of certain events in some of them. I remember the time when the Combined Syndicates of America would win in Kaiserreich's Second American Civil War EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The news pop-up practically elicits a trauma response from me. I sometimes make Canada annex them, even when I play syndicalist nations out of reflex when they win now, and sometimes I delete all their divisions when the civil war is ongoing. Similar story with Kimball in Old World Blues, I've put up with his shit enough times that I have nothing to prove anymore, I'm done playing his sick games: the second he goes to war with the Legion, he's getting slapped with deleteallunits. Dealing with a guy who can puppet and annex neutral nations for free isn't fun the first time, let alone the 20th.

 No.1894

>>1893
Haven't played HOI4 but i've played enough HOI3 to have the same experience with certain events like "the trains run in time","hindenberg burns" and least irrelevant of all "bong king abdicates".
In EUIV ,i always hated how manchuria would ally itself with the inca or how some shithole like mali would ally itself with the cherokee, these stupid mechanics made everything difficult and so a war would become unwinnable.I would just go to a previous save and delete inca/mali etc. Paradox games have the most amount of rage inducing jank out of every other publisher.

I always hated how a single 1000 man army could go behind your lines and recapture every fucking province with ease,so now you would have to send your 20000 man army to chase this fucker and ofc he moves faster and keeps moving from province to province.this was very annoying in asia ,especially against ming.

 No.1916

>>1894
That's why you play Stellaris, the only good Paradox game :^)

 No.1917

>>1916
Stellaris is only good during the exploration and expansion phase, mid to end game is extremely boring and repetitive. Also ship design is limited to predetermined modules a d ship combat is terriblt asualized.I wish there was a mod where I could create my own ships from scratch. To make matters worse, planetside combat is almost nonexistant.

The point of this general is to help anons to:
>Learn healthier habits and skills
>Get in better shape
>Share progress, cooking recipes, routines, etc.
As this is a healthy lifestyle general, discussing roiding/dnp/ozempic/sarms is heavily discouraged.
Only Natty and TRT(for age/health reasons) posters are allowed.

The weight you start with is whatever you can pick up and maintain proper form with for the duration of the exercise in question (which varies like >>1778 said), NEVER start out with something you have to bend and twist awkwardly to complete a rep. Form is everything especially when starting out, if you get into a habit of poor form you WILL regret it later. Once you're sure you have the form down then just slowly increase the weight you're lifting every week.
As a general rule of thumb most exercises aren't going to involve quick twitchy movements during a rep. There's some exceptions but usually you want slow controlled movement during a rep. Check this shit out if you want visuals to follow along with: https://exrx.net/

Upright rows 3x8
Squatpress 3x8
Clean and press 3x5
Hammer curls 3x8

Does /classical/ like hymns? Any favorites?

 No.1904

>>1903

Nott hymns specifically, but choral music in general is amazing. One of the most underrated domains

Bach's motets are so reliable. Lots of interesting performance options. BWV225 is a highlight

Jonathon Dove is a modern composer. I attached 'Vertue' performed by Voces8. Heavy listening.

If you like Sviridov I would be trying other Russian/Soviet compsoers like Shchedrin and Tchaikovsky. I personally want to listen to more Stanford and Howells, as supposedly they're behind some of the grest 20th c. hymn repertiore

 No.1905

>>1904
Thanks for the recs. Always loved Bach and Tchaikovsky. Tchaikovsky is what got me thinking about choral music again recently because of the troparion he used in the 1812 Overture. I quite liked the Dove piece and I'll make sure to check out your other suggestions. I'll have to check out Voces8 as well. I heard them once before when they did a fantastic performance of Pavel Tschesnokoff's Salvation is Created.
