Don't think we've done a proper /vnt/ event yet, so for this month (running from April 3rd - May 3rd) we are doing a high score challenge for Touhou 6 (Embodiment of Scarlet Devil)!
If you don't have this game, it's pretty easy to find with google or nyaa. I recommend using an English patch.
Very simple to participate - just upload a replay (results screenshot is optional). Make sure the replay is the only file you upload or it won't be attached (will try and fix this soon) Be nice. Don't cheat.
I've played this game a few times over the past few years, but have finally started to try and get decent enough to 1CC (still only on easy with max lives and bombs). I'm sure at least a few of you can beat this with higher difficulties.
Top players will be immortalized on a soon to be added static page.
If someone feels like making OC (not reposting existing stuff) they might get on that page too. Get shooting!

Have 1cced 1-9 on easy. Took quite a few tries for each.
Trying to 1cc 6 on normal but the step up in difficulty isn't minor. Gonna have to really work on this to get through it all.

Very nice. I tried my own MarisaA run and actually made it further than I have before, but still not quite there. Also stage 3's background causes the game to lag a ton (probably something to do with running thru wine on a M1 mac)

That is a pretty common issue I think, try to patch it if you haven't.
If that doesn't work there should be like some sort of directx converter thing, you can probably find it if you search around.

Heya. Spent half a day trying to get a decent run and god, my eosd is rusty as hell hahahah. Still tho, decent score I guess.

Tried to do some score running tricks, but Patchy just decided she wasn't gonna be playing nice.

The rules aren't that strict, honestly I just didn't want people using cheat engine or something to have invincibility (never tried that with the touhou games since I don't use Windows machines much)
Hell, even my replays probably wouldn't be accepted due to all the slowdown. This whole event was kind of a "test" for future game contests on wapchan, so I'm happy that at least a few of you gave it a shot. Maybe we should formalize all this for the next time or provide download links? Thinking of doing an old 80s arcade game for the next one, something you can load on MAME.
