If I had the chance, probably through VHS on a CRT but since I don't have that luxury it'll have to be my computer monitor through a hard drive.

Sometimes I think about spending some money on buying VHS tapes of classic shows I love. Would love to have a Captain Tylor boxset.

Its been a long time since ive seen something on a crt tv, its hard to explain but just watching the physical video from an actual player i can see the difference in how smooth everything moves compared to watching it from a file on a computer or device. If you were there when the analog to digital tv signal switch happened you might get what i mean.

I also spent way too much time getting a clean analog signal out of my game consoles into a capture card, trying to hit that balance of as clear as possible and what they actually looked like instead of this upscaled clean signal bullshit

I would imagine its harder to get a decent pic of an old game that an old anime on anything other than a crt.
I can see the lines in my old anime stuff ive captured if i look for them but the tv i watch it on i dont see them. Its a non issue to me but i know thats not the case for you gamers.
