 No.272

this is the new oblivion, remade in unreal engine 5

 No.273

>>272
Great, more sepia-toned shit. Skyblivion will annihilate Bethesda's shitty attempt at remastering Oblivion, as mods always do.

 No.275

>>272
I wonder if I really do want TES6 at this point

 No.277

>>275
I'd really want one if I had any faith in Bethesda not fucking it up

 No.278

>>272
where did the colors go?
Also, did you ever had to fight goblins on that Skingrad bridge? Seems like such a stupid shot to stage.

we traded brown and bloom era for sepia toned unreal engine

 No.286

Bethesda just need to make this easily moddable and they'll sell a gorillion copies. Cmon bethesda. All you have to do is adapt oblivion without changing things too much. Please release something good this time.

 No.287

>>286
I have good faith in Bethesda.

 No.291

When has a remake ever been good?

 No.294

>>291
The problem with remakes is that they keep remaking good games because it's the easy thing to do. I'm sure the Fate/Extra remake will be good since the original was a glorified mobile game. That being said I like the new FF7 remake because it's a reimagining that should be treated as its own game. I don't like when remakes take over the discourse for a game. When people talk about RE1 nowadays they only talk about the remake and that pisses me off!! Remake bad games with good ideas or make reimaginings is what I say just about everwhere.

 No.298

i want a good Oblivion remake so bad. it was my first Elder Scrolls game and i still go replay it periodically. the old jank is charming but a quality remake would be so fun. same with New Vegas.

 No.299

>>294
I didn't like what I saw of the FF7 remake but I agree with you generally. At least it's not pretending to be a replacement for the original, unlike RE like you said or Demon's Souls.
Unfortunately, remakes are just seen as a lazy way to make cash, so only famous and good games are ever going to get one. And they don't need one because they're already good. It's a bit surprising to me honestly how succesful these things seem to be, but I guess there are a lot of people out there who are allergic to anything slightly older.

 No.301

>>299
Yeah, zoomerinos can't into old games because of graphics, le clunky controls and because they think you need to be a haxxorman to set up an emulator (picrel is literally me downloading a rom file). And most games are marketed towards kids/teenagers (see 90% of Japanese games featuring a young protagonist). But yeah I agree they're obviously cash grabs and the only way a bad game is being remade is if it's tied to a popular series.

>>298
There's Skyblivion which has been in developement since dinosaurs still roamed the earth, but apparently it's coming out this year (fo sho fo sho)

 No.307

Dear spaghetti anon, how on earth do you still have any amount of faith in bugfeiesta? After fallout 4, fallout 76 and scamfield , anyone with any amount of self respect would ignore todd and his neverending lies. Remember that todd is just another (albeit less slimy) molyneaux

 No.310

>>307
But that's exactly the point why I have faith in them: After so many flops, they will put all the efforts in the world to prove they are still worthy of AAA.
We all have to trust the developers.

 No.311

>>310
The problem is that good devs usually leave failing companies. They've been on a downward spiral for so long that just anybody looking to make a great game has probably moved on to another studio. The people behind the game we grew up with are gone, it's basically a different company now, probably.

Odin Sphere
Improved translations, improved combat with old combat also being an option, and sharper graphics.

You can stretch Muramasa for the Vita to be a remake of the same game for the Wii.
Also has better translations, better graphics, and has dlc which are all fantastic and unavailable on the Wii version.

Other noteables
Metroid Zero Mission
Heart gold and Soul Silver
Daggerfall Unity

While I think the original is still better, the System Shock remake was actually pretty good. Mostly 1:1 but there were a few changes I didn't agree with, plus losing that cool soundtrack for an okay but unremarkable ambient soundtrack was a real disappointment. I didn't even noticed it as I played.

I also think the Link's Awakening remake is pretty decent but really it's more a re-imagining. Changes up a lot of things and adds a bunch of QoL stuff. I still prefer the DX version though (and the DX HD version is a pretty cool version of THAT game as well)

 No.675

>>272
oblivion is a goofy boomer game that doesn't need to be remade

 No.826

>>291
The remakes of the first 3 Fire Emblem games are more or less considered head and shoulders above the originals. Mostly because animations in the remakes don't take half a century.

 No.849

>>291
I know the translation was a bit funky, nothing is going to be a faithful fan translation, but I stand by the Live A Live remake being spectacular. The VA work alone was enough to send it to the moon for me, the sheer talent they got for the game is insane. Even the NA actors did a decent job across the board (Oersted's actor especially, the man killed it).
It doesn't completely overwrite the original (I still prefer the AG TL, I still prefer some music tracks, despite looking like an FFV hack I still love its graphics) but I don't think anything they make ever could for me, so I'm just happy I got a new way to enjoy a game that I love.

 No.987

>>310
I sincerely hope that the game would be in a better shape than all the trash thats been coming out as of late.I havent played a modern AAA game in years, last one being mankind divided so im willing to hope that something decent is being developed.

Having said that,Todd coward is a lying charlatan and emil frenioli is the laziest, sleaziest slackjaw idea-man to ever grace god's green earth so i expect another stale saarfield at best.

FE3 & FE12 go back & forth depending on how much you hate Kris

 No.1223

Bethesda needs to make a new Fallout with the same gameplay style as the original, it has a great potential.

 No.1464

>>995
Oh, right, I had forgotten about that. MU characters have been controversial for a while now, but he still stands out for being especially unnecessary.
>>1223
I don't think Bethesda can into CRPGs, not many devs can these days. They could hire out someone for it, but who would you give it to?
>Obsidian
lol. lmao.
>Larian
Like BG3, it'd be Divinity dressed up like Fallout. That can still be fun, mind you, but it wouldn't be the same
>Owlbear
Probably the best choice, gameplay wise, but I don't think they could hit the old Fallout tone

 No.1595

>>1223
>>1464
They could hire the fallout sonora devs. But bethesda is owned by microsoft now which means we'll probably get maybe one or two games before microsoft guts its entire xbox division and market reposition every studio in favor of mobile trash which (according to bloomberg) is the way they are headed.
