I use KDE since it has the best Win7 experience that I can get on linux. XFCE is still strictly better I fear. Also KDE is really poor on resource usage. Somehow it takes lots of memory but a lot of things that should be in memory aren't so you have to wait it to load from disk.

I'm using kde on my linux mint install, it's kinda like a frankenstein but it works, on my craptop (4 gigs of ram, celeron n3060, HDD) i'm using mint with xfce, it just works and it feels really snappy
