E.g. I'm pretty certain someone who is obsessed with high school girls and their uniforms would be called a lolicon for being interested in underage girls in general, even though high school girls rarely fall within the "lolita" category of character archetypes in say anime and manga.
There's a simmilar case to this in Castle of Cagliostro when Lupin calls count Cagliostro a lolicon though Clarisse also clearly doesn't fall into the archetype either.
