I mean, what OC can /lum/ make anyways? Fanfiction? Fanart? /lum/ on this alt-chan is way too small to manage a storytime and analysis have been done to death at this point (unless you want to rant about nu-UY). I guess there's no real point to having a /lum/ on this board. Unless you manage to get at least 30 active members that are interested in the topic.

Unironically yes, only ended up here because I saw that someone posted my videos to 4chan (fuck if I know why they would, but tbf I'm a redditor, so arguably that's worse). Decided to see what the threads were about, lurked a bit and made a dumb comment or two, and then it's like "oh shit wapchan is a thing, they seem kinda cool"

People posted your videos because they're funny. I have a reddit account to browse easier but I barely post because a lot of reddit people act like, well redditors. r/uruseiyatsura is super stale compared to /lum/, and their "watch guide" for the original anime is frankly terrible.
With the names, it's up to you really. Some users use names and some don't. I try to treat this place as a cross between an imageboard and a forum, where there's a sense of community and we don't have to strictly follow "unspoken" imageboard rules. I made some UY videos a while ago, didn't do the best voiceover in hindsight but one of these days I'll get back into it.

Maybe we can coordinate some sort of community dub eventually. I know folks always used to mention a "bbc continuation" in the 4chan threads a few years back, and the storytime someone else is doing on 4/a/ has been a lot of fun.

Yeah, idk what /r/uruseiyatsura did with that, my personal watch guide is "watch the original series in order, if you like it, keep watching it". Or watch the reboot, honestly, it's valid too.

UY absolutely has an order, it's just very loose with it; the only thing that matters is when major characters get introduced

The order mostly consists of introducing characters, changing art styles, writing methods, and/or linking old episode happenings every once in a while. UY resets itself every time an episodes ends, so order really does not matter and it's almost non-existent. Characters barely change unless someone on the writing team decides it's needed for a specifically planned emotional episode, that's when characters sometimes get their personally completely changed (for example just look at how Ataru acts in Episode 25: Fly, Imo-Chan!, completely different from how he usually acts in other episodes, it's almost out of character).

The only order you'll honestly see is quality, which Urusei Yatsura notoriously zig zags from absolute shitty unwatchable garbage to amazing masterpieces.
