I don't think about that and neither should you.

 No.1979

When is the Rumic World fandom going to make their own? Fandom is cancerous and evil, and I hate having to use it.

I never have gone there but you could discuss that with the admins there if they’re willing to. How about mirahaze?

Same user: Alternatively they could do what the monster girl wiki team did and make their own site powered by mediawiki(separate from fandom completely)

I actually used to run a subdomain on here called the "Rumiki" last year. It didn't get a ton of traffic but I was able to restore the backup from the old server in case you want to try sprucing it up.

1. It should be called Rumic World.
2. There's already a lot of WP pages on these. You can copy them with attribution.
3. You can likewise do the same with fandom. It has Fandom pages for all of the Rumic works plus a Rumic World fandom.
4. Fandom is cancer, and inertia means people keep using it. With time and linking the independent wiki will win out.
5. Many, many groups, like Fallout, Doom, etc have done the same things.

Fandom is evil, and a cancer to use, but their fandom wikis have some good if unpolished information. For instance, the Wikipedia page for UY 1981 includes much more information and who the storyboard artist, writer, and director was.

It's just that someone has to care enough to pay to start it up and make a mirror of the existing pages. Once it's up and running it can start to supplant the cancer fandom wiki.

 No.1984

Fandom (site) is basically a cancer that eats up every fandom because it's free to use. But it's loaded with ads and is a pain to use, and is designed to extract as much money from you and to show as many ads in your face as possible. It's basically designed to be as obnoxious as possible. It's Jimmy Wales' profit wing and it shows.

Every (actual) fandom has to go through the pains of extracting all the good info from the fandom site. And even then, it takes YEARS for the indepdendent wiki to start to rise though the search engine results. And with it, users, so the fandom pages are more robust and better maintained.

This would be extremely confusing seeing that Rumic World can already refer to
>Rumiko's short stories collected
>The general concept of the shared "Rumic World" throughout her works
>The website furinkan.com (aka Rumic World)
It's better that it's named something different

Good start

 No.1988

I always just called that site Furinkan. That's why you make disambiguation pages and parentheses:

>Rumic World (manga)

>Rumic World (anime)
>website furinkan.com (aka Rumic World)
>Rumic World (Wiki)

I don't hate Rumiki. Honestly, I wanted to help with it, but outside of minor trivia things, I have no idea how to write the basic setup and framework for a wiki.

I guess we could take it from existing wikis, but that felt off.

Fandom is an evil cancer company and fan wikis need to dis-absolve themselves form it. Typically a fanbase will get sick of fandom, then fork their wikis.
