>>2158Do you say that because its what you think or because that is what you see other people saying? I am tired of this new internet bad old internet good nonsense. The internet was a massive mistake and it has made humanity vastly worse than what it used to be. It has just taken time for its destruction to really set in. The good side of the internet died in 1993.

>>2162>>2163I agree, I'm sick and tired of it. It feels like a never ending circle jerk of nostalgia poisoned, terminally online nerds that can't do anything else other then complain. They almost never contribute to anything meaningful and expect the internet to get better on it's own. You're only letting those fucking glowies (who propped up the internet in first place) to win.

I am not so blackpilled about the internet. The web is really what you make it. This is coming from a zoomer, so my earliest internet experience is the late 2000's. It's definitely true that the internet as a whole has degraded in quality, but that's arguably because the internet has expanded to be so much more than it was when we were kids. It will never be like it was back then, but that doesn't mean we can't carve out our own corner and make it something organic and enjoyable. I've seen the term "altweb" thrown around online and it's a concept I enjoy greatly. Beyond Youtube and some personal Discord servers with my more normie friends, most of my time online is spent on altchans, IRC, gikopoipoi, and other small communities.
Nobody is forcing you to interact with the unwashed masses of Twitter and Twitch and Facebook and such. We have a lovely thing going on with the smaller imageboards and personal websites. If we cultivate this "ecosystem" we have it'll further form a niche that draws likeminded, disenchanted, people in. Creating personal sites, linking with others, propping up small and niche communities, doing your part to foster our little bunker of the internet. Even if what we have is pretty small, I really do adore it and will work to improve it. Not out of nostalgia, but out of a desire to make things more fun for the future!
