I didn't record better footage but similar stuff happened several times, when during blockstring it went hit from me-hit from you-hit from me-combo from you, why does this happen at all? I mean not only possibility of counterhit during blockstring by me, but also situation when hit exchange one by one is possible. Webmrel kinda doesn't show the hit exchange but I hope you get what I mean.
No.561
>>560it's just poor stagger pressure. if i did that correctly you would have no chance to hit me back and it would be a proper frametrap, but since i'm delaying my 2A way too much you end up being able to hit me. it looks like you took too long to hitconfirm and tried to combo into 6C which is way too slow though, which is why i was able to hit you back once again
honestly, if you are mashing just stick to mashing the fastest buttons, it's not worth trying to do any fancy combos because the window to hitconfirm is tiny and chances are the opponent is still pressing buttons so you may risk losing the opening you found

Man how do I defend with Iku? the game feels like a turn-based RPG, I gotta play the long wait for Aya to stop pestering me then I can attack, oh but if I ran out of spirit first or they do some weird stuff I'm off the grinder again.
The best advice I've heard is to kill your enemies as fast as possible and don't let them breathe, the moment I start to play defensive I've already lost
No.813
>>812Ggs! Another crow combo discovered today, or rather domination dash combo. Apparently it has very good combo potential as it's cancellable into spellcards from hit.

Am in the wapchan lobby.
No.831
>>825>So, it is a melee move?yeah, it is a melee move. also the "sucking in" part is just a weird glitch that happens with long lingering moves on cross-up, because the game thinks it's pushing you two apart, but since you just switched directions you getting pushed "back" now means you are getting pushed towards the opponent that is also behind you. it's not too hard to replicate but it usually requires some complicity from the opponent
>>830just on that arcade? does that happen whenever you are trying to host?

>>995> And why the fuck does that drop down attack cannot be countered even if blocked properly? only sometimes it worksBecause sometimes I mess up jump height and 2B timings, ideally it should be instant air and delayed 2B hit to prolong blockstun but in reality j.2A is delayed and 2B isn't delayed enough, making your counterattack possible.

>Wiki told me dangerous hitboxes stay during za warudo…that mostly happens with 4 cost za warudo which fucking sucks anyways so that'll hardly ever be relevant. i don't recall ever getting hit during 5 cost time stop. and many people have tried. it probably has invulnerability throughout its entire duration, unlike the other time stop cards
>Realistically, how am I supposed to counter that?it's not a real DP since no version has invulnerability at any level. so just hit it during startup with a melee like any other move. on top of that, only C version grazes and it will always whiff against any grounded opponents, on top of being stupidly slow, and leaving you completely vulnerable until landing (also it has additional landing recovery). B version doesn't have any kind of invulnerability at all and it's mostly just a combo tool. there's also that 623B > j623C gimmick but if you learn how to punish grounded 623B then you can always avoid that
that said, grounded 623C is much better than i ever gave it credit for. it's slow as hell and has massive recovery, but it really shuts down any kind of air-to-ground bullet cover. i just copied that very recently from another anon
No.1022
>>1021> just hit it during startup with a melee like any other moveThing is, it isn't really counterable from air, and I'm forced to spend most of the time there due to need of grazing and other wacky Sakuya's moves (like 66 punches). It can go in two ways: you shoot knives->I try to graze and go melee->get hit by 623 or you shoot knives->I try to shoot back with something (and unless it's not 236 from very exact angle I can't penetrate your barrage)->I get hit by your melee.

Is there a way to influence how often certain cards get in your hand during the game past just adding 4 in the deck?
No.1093
>>1091The other way to icrease the chance are just reducing the clutter on your decks.
Example: skill cards only Suika full of 4x skill card.
Obviously you don't have to go that extreme, but reducing the cards type/variety would help to get the cards you wanted pretty quickly, like having 3x each card on your own decks

No.1096
>>1095I meant the mountain vapor part there. Gourd may or may not be worth it, idk my only experience with them is in meme decks
No.1097
>>1091actually use your cards
sounds obvious but it's really common that people draw 5 cards and then they keep those for a really long time and become unable to gain more meter. if you constantly keep cycling through your deck it's more likely you will come across the one you need sooner rather than later. that's why having low cost, low commitment filler cards is useful. you can use them at any time without having to worry about having to land a knockdown first or whatever
No.1098
>>1096It's worth it(kinda) if you play a character with a shitty meter gain and wants to get skill/spellcard quickly, even though the reason for bringing it in the first place are for the meme.
>I meant the mountain vapor part thereOh, definitely agree with that, it's better to use snow instead… or don't, since I don't have many fond memories of that particular weather

No.1139
>>1138Something I don't understand is why I can't hit these.
I know that due to my habits that you are already used to, when I throw bullets I jump behind to throw more bullets and I get it by melee(due to the HJ). Something I tried but with no avail is to throw bullets and jump forward melee to catch you like I wrote above
But it doesn't work! nothing works!
No.1140
>>1139NTA but why would jumping closer to opponent instead of farther work against melee in the first place? You can't outhit enemy in air if you jump later. I actually have exact same problem, such situation requires frame-perfect stuff to work apparently.
No.1141
>>1140I've tried jumping foward and backwards and meleeing at the very first frame it allows me to, and I get hit anyway, the issue is that the jump after throwing bullets is always a HJ so the melee is delayed.
I honestly don't know if this is a characters fault or mine

I thought I knew how mountain vapour works, but apparently not. Does it just pick absolutely random card from your deck to use, not from ones that are left? I most definitely had only one 5c tornado in today's deck, but here one is used and another 5c tornado remains in hand. Wut?

No.1204

No.1205
>>1200yeah that's a glitch
what happens is that a card doesn't activate until spell flash, which means cards don't get consumed until then. but card consumption checks for the conditions of the first card currently in your hand, which gets shuffled if Mountain Vapor starts during spell start-up but before spell flash. so you end up using your spell while consuming a random card with a different cost
