not surprised, mod quality has gone down there. all /m/ bros are welcome (though id like to have this board not be seen as just a "side site", that's understandably difficult but something im slowing working towards)

the site itself can definitely handle a high amount of traffic, even with no cdn (a deliberate choice, seeing all the cloudflarr issues recently)
the bigger issue of course is moderation on here, since im not always available to clean up spam and whatnot, but if we can get a few more reliable staff members who care enough to keep this place tidy, i think it'll work out fine.
best method at least for me to change my dynamic ip is to set a fake mac address on my router

i know /v/ is a mess (never really went there much myself except for the occasional /v/an) but i have no issues with hosting /v/ or /vr/ content though id might want to do something slightly different since im trying to keep the board ideas themselves mostly original. a lot of old otaku favorites seem to be pretty underrated these days becides a few that have stuck in the public consciousness to this day (lupin, UY, etc), which is kinda what /ar/ is all about, giving more attention to these kinds of works

that's something im trying to work on, making this place more normie friendly without it being at the expense of the imageboard format. if anyone has ideas on how that could be achieved that would be much appreciated, im working on personal projects that would link back to this site but at the end of the day (i've said this before) i want this place to feel like a mostly anonymous forum rather than the usual imageboard.

ive heard of him but haven't read/seen any of his works. what would be a good starting point?

i think it's tough for a lot of people these days to be subtle about what they like when it comes to anime imo, but that's something i have to work on myself since im pretty much in the other extreme where i know a lot about older anime but never really talk about it even to people i know who like anime because they just talk about seasonal stuff i haven't seen. probably should watch some newer stuff myself just to get a better perspective. maybe buy a few more /ar/core shirts even if pretty much no one would recognize them (have some bootleg lum shirts i got off redbubble a while back)
