>>10 I've heard multiple poor things about the R.O.D TV series but I absolutely loved the OVA. Should I go ahead and continue with the TV version after all?
>>20 I'd rate it better than the OVA to be honest, a lot more story occurs and the new characters are pretty fun, but if you're in it for Yoriko then ROD TV pretty much makes her a secondary character and focuses on the new characters for around 15-17 episodes before bringing her back in and making the story focus on her for the final few episodes. I think it also retcons some stuff from the OVA and the story is debatable whether it's good or not. I thought it was fine. If you liked it for the late 90s/early 00s world, and the action I'd say you'd enjoy it but if you dislike any of the new characters from the start then you'd probably dislike it. Give it a try anyhow, I watched it last year and can't really remember much beyond just liking it.
>Aria: the animation >Keroro >Hamtaro and that's all i can think about.
Twin Spica Arjuna Gankutsuo I wanna say Twelve Kingdoms and Candidate for Goddess but neither got an ending.

I used to watch this as a kid! I remember hurrying home not to miss an episode.
>>304 Finally getting around to watching Slayers. I remember reading a post on /a/ that really brought my attention to the anime (which itself was a quote from an anon on /vr/) who said: >"I feel The Slayers is in that weird place that casual anime fans don't know it but hardcore fans thinks it casual. At least that's been my experience." And the thread itself was an interesting look at how this anime (and many others) went from being incredibly popular entry level choices in the 90s to basically being unknown to the average anime watcher, meanwhile things like Eva and Bebop continue to be popular with a lot of people. So I really wanted to watch it to see what the fuss was all about all those years ago and now I'm finally getting around to it. I decided to go with the dub for the show, mostly because I imagine a lot of western fans did as well and hearing some classic 4kids VA's is pretty fun even if the dub itself is somewhat lackluster (although, it works for how comedic it is). I'm very happy that Slayers isn't episodic and has an overarching story, not that I would've found the episodic nature to be bad, but I was honestly getting tired of episodic shows from the few I've been watching this year. So far, it's hard to really gauge how much I like it. I enjoyed it at the start, found myself laughing at jokes and enjoying the character dynamics and the journey they were having, but the past few episodes (I'm on Episode 10 right now) have struggled to keep my attention. I'm not sure if I'm just bad at focusing right now or if it's not as good as I first though, but I do hope it improves a bit. Character wise, I enjoy Lina and Gowry, but do sort of wish there were more people in their party. Zell has been a decent addition but it still feels as if everyone isn't really interacting as much as they could. I'm sure it'll get better as I watch it though, hell I've got like 5 seasons and 10 movies left to get into the world. I'm also quite surprised how the dub has been pretty accurate to the sub, the "Can you make me a Cheeseburger" line came out of nowhere and was NOT in the original script, but it made me laugh so I'll forgive it and so far that's been the only significant change I've heard so far. I'm surprised a lot of the "time of the month" stuff was kept in, guess they didn't have a reason to not dub it. The quality of the bluray is dreadful though, I'm not sure how this happened but it really does look bad. From what I gather these are based off the Spanish DVD's or something? Hell, I'd take 480p over upscaled 480p but I guess it's not *all* bad. I'm hoping it does improve a bit, I'm enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would. Perhaps the slow nature of the first season is setting everything up for later on, or perhaps I'll just have to get into the groove for it. Either way, I'll get through the whole thing over the coming months and post my thoughts here whenever possible.

>>1401 Well, I finished Slayers and after all this time of wondering how good it could be, I'm somewhat surprised at how average it was (on the good side of average though). In the end I liked it, but I thought that it would be better, I'm sure NEXT will be a better part as I've been told it's the peak of Slayers. I liked how by the end we had a party of five, I felt that was a good number for the show as having just Lina and Gourry was a bit boring even if they played each other off well. I was surprised by the final few episodes since you've basically got a mid 90s JRPG that's been given a Pokémon-esque anime in terms of feeling and structure only for people to fucking die and Lina nearly dying too. It honestly felt a lot more darker and it's a shame Slayers couldn't have been a good mix of this instead of 80% fun and 20% serious. I really don't have much to say honestly, I just wanted to post about how I finished the first season for some discussion but overall I just enjoy Slayers and think it's good. Onto Next anyhow, hoping it truly is the peak of Slayers.
>>1401 >went from being incredibly popular entry level choices in the 90s to basically being unknown to the average anime watcher It's called not being memorable. It was popular because it was one of the bigger productions in it's time. Not because it was breaking any kind of ground. Only reason to watch Slayers today is for nostalgia and analyzing it's production values. A similar think happens to Lodoss War, except that the owners of the IP push it to this day so people have some passing awareness of it. >The quality of the bluray is dreadful though, I'm not sure how this happened but it really does look bad. From what I gather these are based off the Spanish DVD's or something? Many anime blurays are rather subpar. For some series like Ghost in the Shell there's HDTV rips, but it's not always the case.

Ah yes, Mahjong, that wonderful game from ancient China. I still don't get {the rules} anyway.
(146.64 KB 550x614 maujong.jpg)
>>72 It's not too hard, it really does just require playing the game. A simplified way to describe it is that you start with 13 tiles, then draw one and figure out how to get to a set of 4 sequences/triplets and one pair, decide which tile is useless to you at that point and discard it. Every player is basically trying to make a legal hand by doing this and usually takes around 10 turns to do it on average. The calls you can make (Chi/Pon/Kan) can help speed up your hand. You call Chi when you want to steal a tile to make a sequence (you have 2-3, someone drops 1, you call chi and steal it). You can Pon for Triplets (2-2, someone drops a 2) and Kan for when you a triplet and someone drops another (2-2-2, someone drops a 2). These all act as a permanent sequence in your hand you cannot remove. You call Ron if someone discards your winning tile, and Tsumo if you draw it yourself. That's pretty much the basics without going into legal hands, calculating points and things like Han. You can understand it the more you play. If we ever get some more traffic around here I wouldn't mind hosting some online games via Mahjong Soul or whatever.

just gonna give some replies >>540 not surprised, mod quality has gone down there. all /m/ bros are welcome (though id like to have this board not be seen as just a "side site", that's understandably difficult but something im slowing working towards) >>544 the site itself can definitely handle a high amount of traffic, even with no cdn (a deliberate choice, seeing all the cloudflarr issues recently) the bigger issue of course is moderation on here, since im not always available to clean up spam and whatnot, but if we can get a few more reliable staff members who care enough to keep this place tidy, i think it'll work out fine. best method at least for me to change my dynamic ip is to set a fake mac address on my router >>545 i know /v/ is a mess (never really went there much myself except for the occasional /v/an) but i have no issues with hosting /v/ or /vr/ content though id might want to do something slightly different since im trying to keep the board ideas themselves mostly original. a lot of old otaku favorites seem to be pretty underrated these days becides a few that have stuck in the public consciousness to this day (lupin, UY, etc), which is kinda what /ar/ is all about, giving more attention to these kinds of works >>547 >not big channers that's something im trying to work on, making this place more normie friendly without it being at the expense of the imageboard format. if anyone has ideas on how that could be achieved that would be much appreciated, im working on personal projects that would link back to this site but at the end of the day (i've said this before) i want this place to feel like a mostly anonymous forum rather than the usual imageboard. >>550 ive heard of him but haven't read/seen any of his works. what would be a good starting point? >>551 i think it's tough for a lot of people these days to be subtle about what they like when it comes to anime imo, but that's something i have to work on myself since im pretty much in the other extreme where i know a lot about older anime but never really talk about it even to people i know who like anime because they just talk about seasonal stuff i haven't seen. probably should watch some newer stuff myself just to get a better perspective. maybe buy a few more /ar/core shirts even if pretty much no one would recognize them (have some bootleg lum shirts i got off redbubble a while back)

>>550 >Wait, you mean to tell me you’ve a retro anime/manga fan and never heard of the works of joji manabe? Personally, I'm bad with names and remember only a few that I really like, but I actually haven't heard of Manabe despite knowing a few of his works now that I look them up. It happens I guess. I can sometimes name a bunch work by the same creator but can't name the creator since I really don't remember them much. >>552 >(though id like to have this board not be seen as just a "side site", that's understandably difficult but something im slowing working towards) Once there's a lot more traffic, I imagine people would be willing to stay here to discuss things more and more. I always keep a tab open and refresh this site around 5-10 times a day if possible for any posts. To me, even 4chan has side boards that I'll browse and post on and then come back to in a day or two to check up on because the board is so slow. If we had around 20-30 posts a day or something, I imagine people would wanna use the site a lot more, just need to wait for more users. >that's something im trying to work on, making this place more normie friendly without it being at the expense of the imageboard format Will be difficult, but I imagine if people figure out the general feel of the board they'll either adapt or leave. I doubt people would wanna shit up a slow board like this and like minded people will want to come here, so so far it's been going great, just slow. More people will mean more shitposting and dumbass opinions, but I think we can live with it if the majority remain levelheaded. >i have to work on myself since im pretty much in the other extreme where i know a lot about older anime but never really talk about it even to people i know who like anime because they just talk about seasonal stuff i haven't seen. probably should watch some newer stuff myself just to get a better perspective. Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I watch a bunch of older show but barely watch currently airing stuff and if I do it's always somehow the things that aren't that popular and are things I read the synopsis of thought were funny or interesting. Although, this season all I've watched are Tomodatchi Game and soon Paripi Koumei which I believe are relatively popular. >keep spreading the word since that's how we're gonna make this place thrive. Already posted in a /vr/ thread to help out a bit, hopefully there might be some anon's who'll find it interesting and not report me for advertising ;_;

I've been watching this anime. So far it's a simple but well done story. Due it's age it lacks in animation sequences, but it more than makes up for it with Dezaki's great directing. And the artstyle is really charming.

>>1253 The rivalry of Antoinette and du Berry is a petty and nonsensical one, but it does a good job at making you feel for their positions. It's about the problems of the aristocracy, so it's not that relatable. Yet I didn't get bored.
>>1255 This was the episode that really made me interested in the show. I remember finding Episode 1-3 to be REALLY boring and it took me around 2 weeks to even get through them, but once episode 4 hit and the whole rivalry between the two occurred over the new few episodes I was hooked on the show, and finished the whole thing in around 2 weeks. This was the show that really made me notice that I really love all the thing Dezaki directs (even if he didn't start doing it until halfway) and tried to watch everything I could that had his direction, even if he didn't write the source material. Somehow, he was always drawn to the greatest shows.
(290.83 KB 540x400 7263273232737.png)
>>1254 More focus on Oscar comes towards the end, when she is finally called to make personal and no longer subordinate choices. She will have to deal with a lot of things at the height of the most delicate moment in France's history. That's when her character truly shines. I loved the entire cast, this series never got me bored even when Oscar wasn't directly involved. Observing a reinterpretation of real historical events in a shoujo-esque narrative and aesthetic by Ikeda first and then with Dezaki's touch is a fascinating experience.
A tv channel decided to air the whole serie in one day so i decided to do a rewatch, i remember the animation being more fluid.

New boards ranchan Admin 04/14/2022 (Thu) 18:34:13 No. 353 [Reply]
As >>>/ar/ reaches nearly 1000 total posts, I've been thinking about the future of this site. wapchan has always been focused around retro content, and there's no real plans to change that. However, I have heard many who say that while they like the site's design and features (especially the rule against political discussion), that they're just not interested in the topics on the boards. Since people have been suggesting these for a while, I'm proposing that two new boards be potentially added. >/a2k/ - 2000s anime >/am/ - Modern anime This is not to detract from /ar/, but rather to give anons more options with their discussion topics. The fact that anime/manga would be split across 3 boards is a deliberate choice, as I did not want any specific era to feel "second class". I put it up for a vote, if we can get say maybe 25 for each then I'll add them (as in if one gets those votes and the other dosent ill add only one). Just wanted to run it by the community first. https://cgi.heyuri.net/vote/vote.php?p=153

>>546 >>548 i just felt like for a retro site a bitmapped font only makes sense, i know i made a "terminal" style a while back but that had a pretty messy BIOS style font while this one seems pretty clean. might make a theme with the old charcoal font from apple as well.

Game Link: https://nexusclash.com/clash.php Have you heard of Nexus Clash? I've been playing it for around a month and it's fun. It's essentially a free to play text browser based PvP MMO that you can play in any browser. Think something like Urban Dead except it's a fantasy game. It's got a deep class system based on morality (evil, good or neutral) where you can become an angel, a demon or a superhuman based on what alignment you are. Some classes such as lich (a neutral mage class) allows you to build undead armies from players you have killed, while others such as corrupters (evil class) can corrupt players or players minions and pets. There's a plethora of classes such as revenant (basically a creature of the night, have skills that allow you to track players who have killed you or people you know, or eternal soldiers - masters of any sort of human combat be it guns, hand to hand or melee, to archangels - high ranking angels that can command other angels to some degree. (Here is a list of all the classes. https://wiki.nexusclash.com/wiki/Classes ) A big thing is after a few years one side of the game (either evil,Neutral or good) wins the game and the game resets with the winning side helping to structure the new game map. If you do play, I highly suggest reading a new player guide https://wiki.nexusclash.com/wiki/New_Player_Guide Map of game: https://nexusclash.com/clash.php?op=map Picture is a retro anime character I created in game

>>1362 When I first saw the ending of Texhnolyze (around 2005ish, I was still a young teenager), while the scene with Ran was unfolding I unconsciously dug my fingers into the skin of my other arm and drew blood. I was making the same facial expression of confusing and rage that Ichise was making and I started sweating and crying intensely. Then the scene that immediately followed afterwards with the insert song and I fucking bawled like a bitch. I threw up later that evening too. Not a single other anime or any other piece of media gave me such a visceral reaction, jesus christ. I haven't watched Texhnolyze since then and I don't want to watch it again.
>>1369 Yeah I remember feeling this heavy hole that slowly drained everything. By then she really was the only part of that show left to hope for and when that was gone and the ending came I just felt empty. Powerful stuff, but it really gets the message of not putting your existence behind impermanent things across to the viewer.

Trigun, but the storytelling is kino's journey, the MC is kirby, and the women come and go as often as they do in Space Pirate Cobra. Anyone else really enjoy Eat Man? Is the manga worth a read?

>>1358 Well, I finished Eat Man 98 and....it's was honestly just as boring as Eat Man 97. Honestly, I'd say it's worse because at least with 97, the plot was confusing enough that I'd want to figure out what exactly the plot was, but with these episodes I just lose interest the second they start. I really don't know what makes this anime so boring, the concept is interesting enough but it's executed poorly I find. My favourite episodes were Ambrosian Days, I enjoyed the characters, the premise and it felt it had a lot going for it that it was actually interesting, I liked Vanessa and her grandfather, I liked the sword that was used as a plot point, I like the kids that Vanessa was trying to help. It was a fun episode that really did have a lot going for it that made me wish others were similar. I did also like Bodyguard, where Bolt had to defend a tower for one hour although the other episodes were okay but I really just didn't care for it at all. Even when I was watching the final episodes today I just couldn't care what was going on, something about a presidential assassination or something. I just wasn't taking it in at all. I really don't know what else to say for the anime, usually when I watch something that I didn't *really* like or something I know isn't that good I say it's "fun" because it can be, but for this it's just mostly boring. Maybe it's the episodic nature of it, maybe it's the storytelling? I don't know, but I probably wouldn't recommend this to anyone else beyond the Ambrosian Days episodes. Sorry OP, it wasn't my kinda anime.

>>1380 I feel that EatMan comes off as heavily nihilistic. And so I think the main reason EatMan was so hard to take in is because its nihilistic worldview resides heavily over the story. Although many episode serve as a parable there is no overarching theme or message that the show has to deliver. If anything the episodic nature of the show is used as a way to show the cyclical and meaningless nature of life. All the moments in the anime are quickly forgotten and nothing that happens has any effect on an existing overarching story. As well as this Bolt never really changes at all. Early on they reveal that he was some kind of freak weapon made in a lab, but besides that nothing is revealed about his past and they never mention it again. And besides Bolt all the characters are fairly 2 dimensional and there is never an attempt at making characters 3 dimensional. I'd say there are two types of character in this anime: those who have are driven by their desires and those who have no desire. Mercenaries like Bolt and Heart are people who have lost any desire and so they wander the world acting as tools others can use to achieve their own desires. Yet people like Bolt know first hand that desire is a type of ignorance that only leads to more desire and so on. And this is shown through all the recurring characters whose desire either leads them to suffering or a point at which they only desire more. Bolt helps people achieve their goals, but it is often implied that nothing he does really helps anyone face reality. In one of the last 98 episodes he gives the robots back their memories and lets them continue living on believing they are human. This implies that Bolt does not save anyone, he merely lets them live in their own fantasies, or dreams. I believe this is partly why the program in the episode where the little girl dies says that Bolt is the only one who gets her. Because just as the programs keeps people in a dream Bolt lets others live their own dream. And why when he fails to save the little girl he renounces his title as a mercenary when he failed to keep the little girl in her dream. In the final episode of 97 Bolt is forced to take down the ship that is the dreams of many. The flying ship is comparable to the titanic which was known as the unsinkable ship. In fact the flying ship in Bolt is even explained to be able to keep afloat because of the people who believe in it. The psychocrystal that is its engine is said to feed off of the mental energy that is produced by those who believe in it. Even those who went to destroy it went because they were following their dream of destroying it, which only fed the crystal and explains why no one, but Bolt, a mercenary and master of dreams could destroy it. However by destroying the floating ship Bolt contradicts his own role by destroying the dreams of many, in order so that that one girl can achieve her own dream. And yet the captain explains that it is sometimes necessary the goal which one set at the beginning. Indeed this is true as whenever Bolt gives one person their dream he breaks the dream of another. And in this way Bolt is both the doctor program that keeps people in their dreams and Death who takes people back to reality. This all relates back to the nihilism of the anime as it basically states that reality itself is just a false dream controlled by forces, like Bolt, which make or break dreams, as they see fit. Beings like Bolt understand the meaninglessness of life which is why they are free to wander without being tied down by any of the dreams that others are tied down by. In this sense Bolt only exists for others which is why he himself seems empty.
>>1382 >*That it is sometimes necessary to go against the goals that you set at the beginning Sorry I hardly read through this before posting
>>1382 Thanks for the write up, that's actually quite interesting and I never saw the anime in this light before. I can respect it a lot more from that. I never really felt any nihilism from the anime, it just felt like a world that's not that different from our own and Bolt was helping random people as the story dictates, but the way you word it actually makes a lot of sense since the episode plots don't really matter it's more about Bolt trying to solve problems to fulfill the dreams of the people he helps.
>>1384 I think what you're saying about the setting being similar to the real world is exactly right and partly why I believe it is nihilistic. Because even though the anime takes place in a futuristic world, that at first seems different from our own, somehow its essence is similar enough to the our real world to be boring. But I think this is part of what gives EatMan a nihilistic vibe. It's not trying to take the viewer on an otherworldly adventure, rather the adventure is so founded in reality and humanity that it gets repetitive quick. Maybe part of Eatman's message is that there are no fairy tale like adventures out there, only harsh reality and dreams which deny reality's harshness. Bolt himself says that only someone who has eaten metal while crying can truly know what adventure tastes like.

Retro Anime that you want to see subbed. anon 01/08/2022 (Sat) 11:39:36 No. 30 [Reply]
Self explanatory. For me it would be three late 80s Studio Comet produced TV shows all with Hirosho Kanazawa as character designer and heavily involved as an animation director. I believe all three are manga adaptations, and they all have the similar kind of pudgy faced caricatured character designs that are really unique. High School Kimengumi, Tsuide ni Tonchinkan and Meimon! Daisan Yakyuubu. The latter two I watched raw, with Tsuide ( screenshots shown here) being a well executed slapstick comedy, albeit a bit repetitive. Meimon is an incredibly well done sports drama with storyboards that feel somewhat reminiscent of Dezaki, as it was his student, Hiroshi Fukutomi who directed it. The animation quality was outstandingly good and consistent, full of subtle weighty convincing motion during the baseball games. Kimengumi has its movie subbed and I enjoyed it, but the series has yet to be picked up.

Does wapchan enjoy visual kei? >What is Visual Kei? Visual Kei is a musical movement that originated in Japan in the mid-1980s. Appearing out of Japan's punk and metal scenes, visual kei is an aesthetic, rather than a genre, pulling imagery from gothic rock, punk, shock rock, glam rock, speed metal and hair metal, often wearing elaborate costumes and flamboyant hair. The movement expanded beyond it's hair punk and glam metal roots in the 1990s to cover a vast array of different subgenres and genres, ranging from extremes such as brutal death metal to accessible genres like synthwave. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18H2Uc9_7I0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNTv-tDtYvU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvY7zc0a-7Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81-czr9Zano

Spring Update + April Events ranchan Admin 03/24/2022 (Thu) 03:15:12 No. 203 [Reply] [Last]
Hello everyone! First off, I want to thank everyone who came to the second watch p/ar/ty, even if ended up being sort of a mess. Truth was I was super busy for a few weeks and planned on being free that Saturday for the stream, but had to leave after a while since I had other stuff to attend to. In the future there shouldn't be any more incidents like some of the videos having italian subs (didn't have time to check all of them). At the end of the day though it was pretty good, and I'd like to give special thanks to our good friends from heyuri for promoting the event on their site and being such good sports about it all. We'll be collaborating with them more in the future for sure. Now for the events planned for April (I have been taking it easy the past few days since i'm done flying around all over the place for the year, so hope the radio silence wasn't too bad) >Documentary watch p/ar/ty This will be on 4/2 and feature the videos from >>>/ar/877 (plus any other suggestions, always found this stuff real interesting) >Retro game night This will be on 4/16, where i'll startup a old FPS server (probably quake or ut99) and frag the night away. >Game Adaptation watch p/ar/ty This will be on 4/30 and feature the suggestions from >>>/ar/891 (plus any other suggestions) May will probably feature an event similar in concept to the 4chan cup, still working out the details on that one Now for some other events running through spring: >Mascot contest I'll put up a post about this in the next few days, but i'll be starting up a contest to design mascots, both for the site as a whole and each board. While we've used a few anime girls to represent this place, I feel it's important that this site has its own identity, and mascots are a big part of that (especially since our friends at heyuri have a nice one). This will probably run through the months of April and May, with the winners being decided by June 1st. >Fireside chats I was going to do one beforehand, but I'd like to do these pretty frequently to stay in touch with all you wapnons, so on these days I'll be on the IRC (probably at the usual watch p/ar/ty times)

>>1301 LoGH is quite literally one of a kind. The closest thing there is to LoGH is Universal Century Gundam, but even then they're very different franchises. The similarities largely stem from being long character-driven science fiction drama series with tons of different characters from conflicting factions with motivations and schemes, and with Universal Century Gundam (or, at least the first three series and Char's Counterattack), you're going to largely be sticking with the same cast in a long war drama/political plot. There's also a lot of very similar characters between the two. Also, not really like LoGH, but related, there's Irresponsible Captain Tylor, which is a parody of military drama space opera anime in general. The original creator claimed that the main character, Tylor is literally a spoof on Yang Wen-li, so that's why I'm recommending it.
>>1302 >LoGH is quite literally one of a kind. Sad but true. I'm afraid that I'll never find anything so high quality that also caters to my specific tastes in anime (and modern anime is even less likely to have that particular combination for may reasons). Not that anon, by the way. I've heard people claim that the Leijiverse comes close, but I've still yet to watch anything in it. >The original creator claimed that the main character, Tylor is literally a spoof on Yang Wen-li That's funny if true, do you have a source for that?
>>1312 >That's funny if true, do you have a source for that? Not that anon, but the only source I can find is from the Tylor wiki which states that, however I've seen both and there are quite a decent amount of comparisons you can make for both, plus Tylor's light novel came out 2 years after LOGH's ended. Copying what I said from another thread: Tylor is meant to be like Yang, albeit, a hell of a lot more easy going and downright lucky. Working for the "United Planets Space Force" and pretty much joining it for reasons that aren't relating to wanting to fight in battles but being exceptional in the battles he fights. Leading the people around him having no idea if it's dumb luck or incredible genius he plays off as dumb luck. Whereas his main rival opponent is Ru Baraba Dom who is a commander in the Raalgon empire, has long hair, is pretty damn serious a majority of the time and sees Tylor as someone who is incredibly powerful and someone he needs to defeat for the empire to win the fight against the UPSF. (It's been a while since I watched it, I can't fully remember the Raalgon empire's background)
In the first or second episode of Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ there's a scene where a female character faints as part of a gag. I've always enjoyed seeing this happen in live action movies, this is the first time I've gotten the same enjoyment from an anime. This particular scene has no bearing on the plot, we never see this character before or after, and we never even learn her name. I have trouble finding references to this scene online and as far as I can tell this is the only time a woman faints in the entire Gundam franchise. Are there any anime with similar scenes, preferably involving named characters with more relevance to the plot?

What did she mean by this?

>>739 That sounds like a lie or a lot of cope. They sleep facing each other holding hands. It never went full gay because Chiho thought it would scare people away, so Ikuhara put as much romantic subtext as possible into the series
>>742 they never went full gay because it would not make sense for their characters to act like that. retard chiho saito wasnt the arbiter
>>746 >chiho saito wasn't the arbiter No but bepapas were a team and they all had their say. This is literally confirmed by interviews with Ikuhara and Saito that she was the one to stop it being gay. The reason why the movie is gay is because it was unrestrained Ikuhara. >it would not make sense for their characters to act like that Did you even watch the show

Favourite retro computer? Mine is the Fujitsu FM Towns, mostly for its pioneering use of CDs and its Japanese computer games being superior to their PC-98 counterparts, although it died off a lot sooner. Just another blip in the Japanese computer scene.
I like that CD slot.

Didn't expect Trigun to be this bad. These production values are on par with those Lost Universe webms. Surprised there was no backlash against it and that the show is remembered fondly in spite of this.

While I don't think Trigun is bad by any means, I do wonder how I feel about it these days, since I last watched it around 7 years ago and this was when I was just really getting into anime (had only seen around 50 shows prior) and thought it was really fucking cool and had some really interesting episodes and fun action. These days, I wonder if I'd find it somewhat bland and not as fun? Great opening though, entire reason I watched it back in the day. Some anon on /v/ said it was his ringtone and it interested me so much I had to give it a watch.
>>1328 >but the animation was pretty typical of the day I've watched many shows that had far better animation than Trigun, Kesnhin, YYH, Bebop, Infinite Reviuys to name a few. Not only does Trigun have awful weightless animation but you get QUALITY every episode, this level of production is unacceptable for an action show.

>>1342 I hear that Trigun is one of the worse ones. I mean I watched Lain and Evangelion too to add to the list of tv anime but none looked this bad.
>>1343 >I hear that Trigun is one of the worse ones Trigun doesn't have that reputation, where are you hearing this?
